Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a clouding of the eye's naturally clear lens. The lens focuses light rays on the retina, the layer of light-sensing cells lining the back of the eye, to produce a sharp image of what we see. When the lens becomes cloudy, light rays cannot pass through it easily, and vision is blurred. In cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is removed from the eye through a surgical incision. In most cases, the natural lens is replaced with a permanent intraocular lens (IOL) implant. We now offer the option of removing the cataract using advanced laser (femtosecond laser) technology.

High Tech IOL

People with cataracts now have the option of choosing a high-tech lens implant making it possible to see well at far and near without the use of glasses. Make an appointment with us to find out if you are a good candidate for this option.

LASIK

More than two million people have had LASIK , with the highest satisfaction rate of any elective procedure. Improved technology now means better results and fewer side-effects.

As the technology continues to improve the procedure is becoming safer and more precise. Still, it is not now nor will it ever be risk-free. That's why you need to fully understand your unique risk parameters in order to make an informed decision about your eye surgery. Make an appointment to see if you're a candidate.

Glaucoma Management

The optic nerve carries the visual signal that the eye creates to the brain. Glaucoma is a disease in which the optic nerve is damaged. This, in turn, leads to an insidious loss of vision. Prompt detection and management of glaucoma is crucial in preventing damage. Therapies for this disease include eye drops, laser, and incisional surgeries. The key is early detection and prevention of visual deterioration.
